Butter Lettuce Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head butter lettuce 14 ounces or 400g
  • 1 cup (240ml) sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 English cucumber optional
  • 8 radishes optional
  • 2 tablespoons chopped dill
  • 2 tablespoons chopped chives

Instructions

  1. Cut radishes into thin slices. Dice the cucumber, sprinkle with salt, and let stand for 10 minutes.
  2. Wash the lettuce thoroughly, leaf by leaf, and discard damaged outer leaves.
  3. Dry the lettuce, either in a salad spinner or by hand with a kitchen towel. It´s important that the lettuce is dry.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, sugar, and lemon juice.
  5. Place the cleaned and dried lettuce in a very large bowl. Season lightly with salt.
  6. Squeeze out excess water from the cucumber. Add cucumber, radishes, chopped dill, and chives to the lettuce.
  7. Add the dressing, toss until evenly combined.
  8. Enjoy!
