Ingredients

  • 2 ⅔ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • ½ cup butter melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  2. Add flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt to a medium bowl.
  3. Whisk the dry ingredients together until combined.
  4. Add the buttermilk and whisk in until just incorporated.
  5. Pour the melted butter into an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of biscuit dough over the butter and gently spread out.
  7. Cut the unbaked biscuit dough into 9 squares.
  8. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the top of the biscuits are golden brown.
  9. Let the biscuits sit for about 5-10 minutes or until the butter has soaked in.
