Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 medium carrots chopped
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 5 oz tomato paste
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 qt chicken broth
  • 1/2 large cabbage chopped (about 4 cups)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat a pot over medium-heat. Add ground beef to the pot and break it down as it cooks.
  2. Add chopped carrots and onion to the cooked ground beef. Sauté until the veggies are softened. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add rice, tomato paste, bay leaves, water, and broth.
  4. Bring everything to a simmer and let it cook for about 20 minutes. Add chopped cabbage and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and immediately remove from heat.
