Caipirinha Cocktail

Brazil's national drink, the Caipirinha is a strong drink made from cachaca, muddled limes, and sugar served over ice. A refreshing and delicious cocktail that is perfect for hot summer days and backyard barbecues.

Ingredients

  • 2 washed limes cut into eighths
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 6 oz cachaca
  • ice cubes or crushed ice

Instructions

  1. In two old fashioned glasses, muddle one chopped up lime with two tablespoons of sugar in each. Muddle them well until the sugar is almost completely dissolved.
  2. Add 3 ounces of the cachaca to each glass, add ice, and stir with a spoon or straw.
  3. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • This is a very strong drink, you can add limeade or different juices as mixers to dilute the strength.
