Cake Flour Substitute

Making a cake but don’t have any cake flour on hand? Use your all-purpose flour to make this cake flour substitute and save yourself a trip to the grocery store.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Measure out 1 cup of flour. Remove 2 tablespoons of the flour, returning it to your container for another use.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to the flour. Whisk together to combine, then sift the mixture at least 2-3 times to mimic the airy texture of cake flour. 
  3. Measure and use as directed in the recipe.

Notes

  • Make sure you know how to measure flour properly before making this substitute.
