Caprese Sandwich Recipe

Artisan bread layered with ripe tomatoes, basil, and whole milk Mozzarella; this Caprese Sandwich is the epitome of a vibrant and delicious meal everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 slices of sourdough bread or baguettes - thick slices
  • 8 ounces whole milk mozzarella sliced
  • 2 ripe tomatoes sliced
  • 1 cup fresh basil
  • Balsamic Vinaigrette or Pesto

Instructions

  1. Drizzle the olive oil over each slice of bread. Layer the cheese, tomatoes, and fresh basil onto 4 slices. Drizzle with the vinaigrette or pesto over the filling. 
  2. Assemble the sandwiches, slice, and serve.
