Instructions
Step No.1: Bake the Cake
- Prepare and bake the chocolate cake mix in a 9x13-inch pan according to package instructions. Let it cool for about 10 minutes after baking.
Step No.2: Poke the Cake
- Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the cake, about 1 inch apart.
Step No.3: Add Caramel and Condensed Milk
- In a small bowl, mix caramel sauce and sweetened condensed milk. Pour the mixture evenly over the cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes.
Step No.4: Chill the Cake
- Cover and refrigerate the cake for at least 1 hour to let the caramel soak in.
Step No.5: Add Toppings
- Spread whipped topping evenly over the cake. Sprinkle with chopped pecans, mini chocolate chips, and crushed cookies (if using). Drizzle extra caramel sauce and chocolate syrup on top.
Step No.6: Serve and Enjoy
- Slice and serve immediately or chill for an extra 30 minutes for best results.
Notes
- Use a homemade chocolate cake for a richer flavor.
- Warm the caramel sauce slightly before pouring for easier spreading.
- For extra crunch, sprinkle with toffee bits!
- Salted Caramel Turtle Cake: Sprinkle with flaky sea salt for a sweet-salty balance.
- Peanut Butter Twist: Swap pecans for chopped peanuts and drizzle with peanut butter sauce.
- Double Chocolate Version: Use chocolate whipped cream for extra decadence!
