Ingredients
Caterpillar Fruit Kabobs
- 1 small cantaloupe
- 1 small sugar baby watermelon or half of a bigger melon!
- 8 kabob skewers broken in half
- 32 Candy eyes
Dairy Free Fruit Dip
- 1 cup vanilla yogurt Dairy free almond yogurt was used, but any vanilla yogurt works in this recipe
- 1 Tbsp honey
- Juice from a half of a lime
- Zest from one lime
Instructions
For The Melon Kabobs
- Using a melon baller tool, create small round balls of both the watermelon and the cantaloupe.
- Crack wooden kabob sticks in half so they are about five to six inches long. Thread watermelon and cantaloupe onto skewers, alternating between the melon types.
- Using a toothpick and a few drops of honey, use the honey to stick the eyes onto the fruit caterpillars.
Cup of Yum
For The Fruit Dip
- Zest the outside of the lime with a small grater.
- Mix together the lime zest, juice from half of the lime, honey and yogurt.
Notes
- Any kind of yogurt can be used in this recipe. I chose to make this batch dairy free with almond yogurt but coconut and soy-based yogurts also work. Geek or regular full dairy yogurt can also be substituted.
