Cherry Cobbler

This easy cherry cobbler recipe made with fresh cherries is an unforgettable late summer treat!

Ingredients

  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cups cherries fresh or frozen, pits removed
  • 1 cup granulated sugar divided
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In the bottom of a 9x9-inch baking dish, add the butter and place it in the oven to melt, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. Toss the cherries with ¼ cup of sugar. Set aside.
  4. Meanwhile, combine the remaining sugar, milk, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Pour the batter over the melted butter, but do not stir. Sprinkle the cherries overtop.
  6. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until the cobbler is set.

Notes

  • To store cherry cobbler, keep it covered in the fridge for up to 4 days. Enjoy it chilled or warm up servings in the microwave.
  • If you want to freeze cobbler, wait until it's completely cooled. Wrap portions in foil followed by plastic wrap and freeze them for up to 1 month, either as a whole or in individual containers.
