Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- pinch salt
- 3/4 cup butter softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 cup Maraschino cherries chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.
- Drain the maraschino cherries and pat dry with paper towel. Chop into halves or quarters and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and a pinch of salt, until combined.
- In a separate bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add sweetened condensed milk and almond extract and mix until creamy.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the bowl of wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
- Fold in the chopped cherries and chocolate chips.
- Use a cookie scoop to form balls of dough, and drop them 2” apart on the cookie sheet.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until the edges are a light golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to rest on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes, then move to a wire rack to cool.
