This Cherry Smoothie combines morello cherries with Greek yogurt and nut butter to create a thick and creamy smoothie without relying on bananas for sweetness or texture. Ingredients
- 1 cup morello cherries frozen or fresh pitted ones.
- ½ cup Greek yogurt style
- 1 tablespoon coconut sugar optional. See the note, or palm sugar, or honey
- 2 teaspoons chia seeds
- 2 tablespoons nut butter see the note.
- 1 ½ cups spring mineral water sparkling water, coconut water or drinking water (see the note, or still water
Instructions
- Place the cherries in the blender.
- Add in the yoghurt, nut butter, sugar or honey (if using), and chia seeds.
- Pour in the liquid. And blend it all for about 2 minutes or until you get a nice thick smoothie.
Notes
- Adjust or omit coconut sugar or honey depending on the natural sweetness of the cherries used.
- You can substitute peanut, almond, or hazelnut butter based on personal preference.
- Using coconut water or sparkling water as the liquid adds extra flavor compared to still water.
