Chèvre Which Way But Loose Burger
The Chèvre Which Way But Loose Burger is an herbaceous and creamy twist on a classic beef burger. Ground beef patties are seasoned with garlic and topped with a spread made from chèvre mixed with fresh herbs, mayo, and diced cucumber and tomato. The fresh vegetable accents and mild herb and cheese spread add brightness and tang to the juicy beef, all served on a soft Vienna roll with sliced red onion and cucumber for texture.
Ingredients
- 1 chevre cheese room temperature, 4-ounce log
- 1 teaspoon sage chopped, fresh
- 2 teaspoons oregano fresh, chopped
- 1 teaspoon thyme chopped fresh
- 1 teaspoon rosemary chopped, fresh
- mayonnaise scant ¼ cup
- 1 English cucumber half finely diced, half sliced (you likely won’t need the entire cucumber)
- 2 tomato seeded and finely diced (you likely won’t need more than one
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 Vienna rolls
- ½ red onion sliced
Instructions
- Mix the chèvre, herbs, and mayo together until mixture has a soft cream cheese consistency. Mix in ¼ cup each of the diced cucumbers and tomatoes (you can add more if you want).
- Mix the garlic into the beef and form 4 patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper and cook your burgers.
- Build your burger: Bottom bun, burger, chèvre spread, sliced onion, sliced cucumber, top bun–go!
Notes
- Mix chèvre and herbs to a soft, spreadable consistency before adding vegetables.
- Use fresh herbs to maximize the herbal flavor in the chèvre spread.
- Season beef patties well and cook to preferred doneness for best flavor.
- Assemble burgers immediately after cooking to enjoy optimal freshness and texture.
