Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 3 eggs
  • ¼ cup evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 ½ cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a small bowl combine eggs, evaporated milk and vanilla and blend thoroughly with a wire whisk.
  3. In a small saucepan melt the butter over low heat.
  4. Pour the sugar and cocoa into the melted butter and whisk together.
  5. Slowly, a little at a time, pour the egg mixture into the sugar mixture and whisk together until thoroughly blended.
  6. Pour into a 9 inch pie crust and place in the oven to bake for 40-45 minutes. You'll know it is done when there is just a little jiggle left in the center of the pie.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before serving.
