Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread combines ripe mashed bananas with a tender whole wheat flour base and sweet semi-sweet chocolate chips. The result is a moist and slightly dense loaf with pockets of melted chocolate adding richness. This bread bakes in a loaf pan and is great for breakfast or as a snack. The inclusion of lemon juice helps keep the bananas bright and the texture soft. The balance of baking powder and soda ensures a good rise, while vanilla extract adds a warm flavor note.

Notes

  • Replace white whole wheat flour with all-purpose flour if preferred without adjustment to quantities.
  • Use ripe bananas for best flavor and natural sweetness.
  • Test doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow bread to cool in pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely for easier slicing.
