Chocolate Covered Pretzels
Chocolate Covered Pretzels combine salty pretzels with melted semi-sweet chocolate and optional sprinkles for texture and decoration. The contrast between the crisp pretzel and smooth, sweet chocolate coating provides a balanced snack or treat. These can be quickly prepared and chilled to set for a crunchy, sweet and salty bite.
Ingredients
- 12 ounces pretzel rods
- 12 ounces pretzel twists
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate I prefer Ghiradelli
- Sprinkles seasonal for extra fun, assorted
Instructions
- DIRECTIONS
- Melt the chocolates in double boiler or in the microwave according to package directions until completely melted and smooth.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- Spoon the chocolate over the pretzel, leaving a few inches uncovered for a handle
- Allow the excess chocolate to drip off the pretzels by gently shaking and twisting the pretzel over the bowl to avoid the chocolate pooling under the pretzel or into the toppings.
- Immediately cover chocolate with desired toppings and place on parchment paper.
- Place in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
- Store in an air tight container for several days.
