Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Chocolate Covered Pretzels combine salty pretzels with melted semi-sweet chocolate and optional sprinkles for texture and decoration. The contrast between the crisp pretzel and smooth, sweet chocolate coating provides a balanced snack or treat. These can be quickly prepared and chilled to set for a crunchy, sweet and salty bite.

Description

The recipe melts semi-sweet chocolate until smooth, then coats both pretzel rods and pretzel twists by spooning the chocolate over them. Excess chocolate drips off to avoid pooling. Sprinkles can be added immediately after coating for color and added texture.

After coating, the pretzels are placed on parchment paper and chilled in the freezer briefly to harden the chocolate. This quick chilling helps the chocolate set evenly. Proper handling ensures the chocolate covers each pretzel without overwhelming the handle area to maintain ease of eating.

The finished pretzels are crisp, combining the crunch of the pretzel with the glossy, firm chocolate layer and optional festive sprinkles. They can be stored in airtight containers for several days, keeping their texture and flavor.
