Chocolate-Filled Cruffin Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 puff pastry sheets, defrosted
  • 8 pieces milk chocolate (about 1 1/2 - 2 inch long pieces)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp water
  • icing sugar

Instructions

  1. Thaw the puff pastry sheets according to package directions.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400F. Spray a muffin tin with non stick cooking spray and set aside.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheets to about 8x10 inch rectangles.
  4. Brush each sheet of puff pastry with melted butter.
  5. With a knife or pizza cutter, cut each puff pastry sheet into 4 strips (cut from the long end so the strips will be about 2.5 inch wide and 8 inches long).Place a piece of chocolate at the short end of a strip of pastry and roll the chocolate into each strip.
  6. Set each puff pastry roll into a muffin tin and brush with an egg wash (1 egg whisked with 1 tbsp water).
  7. Bake in the oven on the centre rack for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Once cooled, dust with icing sugar and enjoy!
