Chocolate French Toast

This chocolate chip stuffed French toast combines the sweetness of traditional French toast with loads of melted milk chocolate!

Ingredients

  • 8 lices white bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips

  1. Begin heating a large skillet over low-medium heat.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar, and cocoa powder together. It will take a bit to incorporate the cocoa powder.
  3. Dredge each slice in the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for about 5 seconds.
  4. Allow excess egg mixture to drip off and place dredged slices in your heated, greased skillet.
  5. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown.
  6. Place chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals until they are completely melted. Stir often.
  7. Spread a layer of chocolate in between two pieces of French toast to create a sandwich.
  8. Serve with toppings of your choice. (fruit, syrup, whipped cream, etc.)
