Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, mix together the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Whisk in the water.
- Cook over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until it comes to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and continue to simmer for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Allow the syrup to cool and pour into a glass jar or bottle.

Notes
- For best flavor, use the chocolate sauce once it has completely cooled down.
- The sauce will thicken a bit after refrigeration. This makes it into a perfect ice cream topping!
