Ingredients

  • 1-2 cups ice I like to use 2 cups for a very thick smoothie
  • 1 banana sliced and frozen
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla cashew milk or other milk of choice
  • 1 chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 1-2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • Pinch salt
  • chocolate chips optional garnish

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender and puree until thick and smooth. Garnish with chocolate chips, if desired. Serve immediately!

Notes

  • For kids, omit protein powder and substitute with sweetened vanilla Greek yogurt plus an extra tablespoon of cocoa powder to retain chocolate flavor.
  • Use unsweetened vanilla almond milk and sugar-free protein powder to reduce sugar content.
  • Whey protein powder is preferred for flavor and thickness, but vegan protein powder can be used as a substitute.
