Chunky Monkey Protein Smoothie
This Chunky Monkey Protein Smoothie blends frozen banana, chocolate protein powder, peanut butter, and cocoa powder into a thick, rich shake with a creamy texture and a natural chocolate-peanut butter flavor. It provides a satisfying, protein-rich option for breakfast or post-workout. Using unsweetened vanilla cashew milk keeps it smooth without extra sweetness, and chocolate chips can be added for a crunchy garnish.
Ingredients
- 1-2 cups ice I like to use 2 cups for a very thick smoothie
- 1 banana sliced and frozen
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla cashew milk or other milk of choice
- 1 chocolate protein powder
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder unsweetened
- 1-2 tablespoons peanut butter
- Pinch salt
- chocolate chips optional garnish
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender and puree until thick and smooth. Garnish with chocolate chips, if desired. Serve immediately!
Notes
- For kids, omit protein powder and substitute with sweetened vanilla Greek yogurt plus an extra tablespoon of cocoa powder to retain chocolate flavor.
- Use unsweetened vanilla almond milk and sugar-free protein powder to reduce sugar content.
- Whey protein powder is preferred for flavor and thickness, but vegan protein powder can be used as a substitute.
