Cilantro-Jalapeño Hummus Recipe Without Tahini
This Cilantro-Jalapeño Hummus omits tahini, relying on chickpeas blended with fresh cilantro, garlic, jalapeño, lemon and lime juices, olive oil, and a bit of water to achieve its creamy texture and bright, slightly spicy flavor. It offers a fresh twist on traditional hummus, emphasizing the herbaceous cilantro and mild heat from jalapeño.
Ingredients
- 1 ounce chickpeas drained and skinned, canned
- 2 tablespoons cilantro roughly chopped
- 2 cloves garlic peeled
- 1 tablespoon jalapeño roughly chopped (about 1/2 a jalapeño)
- 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice fresh
- 1 tablespoon lime juice fresh
- salt pinch
- black pepper pinch
- 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- Place all ingredients, apart from the olive oil and water in a small food processor and blend until smooth.
- With the machine running, stream in the olive oil and water and continue processing until super creamy and smooth.
- Spread on everything!
