Ingredients

  • 4 apple peeled, cored, and chopped, medium
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan on medium heat, combine the chopped apples, water, sugar, and cinnamon. Cover the saucepan and let it reach a simmer.
  2. Simmer the mixture over medium heat for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the apples are very soft. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  3. Remove from heat. Mash the cooked apples with a fork or potato masher until smooth. Allow the applesauce to cool before serving.
