Cinnamon Buttercream

A spiced adaptation of classic American buttercream. This cinnamon buttercream is full of flavour and a great option to accompany your cakes and bakes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 2¾ cup powdered icing sugar
  • 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In the bowl of an electric stand mixer, fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the softened butter for about a minute, until smooth.
  2. Sift into the mixing bowl about half of the powdered sugar and the cinnamon. Beat on a low setting until just combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
  3. Repeat the process, sifting in the remaining half of the powdered sugar. Beat on low until just combined and add the vanilla extract.
  4. Continue beating on a low setting for about 2 minutes until light, creamy and smooth.
