Ingredients
- ½ cup self-rising flour
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1.5 tablespoons softened butter
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon corn starch
- Pinch of salt
For glaze-
- ¼ cup confectioners sugar
- 2 teaspoons milk
Instructions
- In a small bowl add self-rising flour, milk, and softened butter. Mix with a wooden spoon until the flour is incorporated into the wet ingredients.Note: If the dough turns out too crumbly, add extra milk to make get the right consistency.
- Transfer flour to the counter and sprinkle with a little flour.
- Press and lightly knead dough until it comes together and is soft.
- You can rest the dough for 1 or 2 minutes.
- Meanwhile, make the filling.
- Mix melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, corn starch, and salt. Keep aside.
- Sprinkle the counter lightly with flour.
- Roll dough into long strips, approximately 4 inches wide and 10-12 inches long.
- Spread evenly butter-sugar-cinnamon mix.
- Optional step – fold about ¼ inch on both side to prevent filling from oozing out of the roll while ‘baking’ in the microwave.
- Roll the dough tightly to resemble a cinnamon roll.
- Grease a standard-sized mug with melted butter. Sprinkle a generous pinch of flour on all sides.
- Place the cinnamon roll in the mug.
- Microwave at high heat for 60 to 90 seconds. The dough should be set and cooked. If the dough is undercooked, increment by 5 second intervals as each microwave behaves differently.5-second
- Remove the cinnamon roll in a mug from the microwave.
- In a small bowl mix together confectioners sugar and milk until it’s thick, smooth, and lump-free.
- Pour glaze on top of cinnamon roll. Eat from the mug or transfer to a plate drizzle extra glaze and enjoy! Eat immediately hot.
