  1. In a small bowl add self-rising flour, milk, and softened butter. Mix with a wooden spoon until the flour is incorporated into the wet ingredients.Note: If the dough turns out too crumbly, add extra milk to make get the right consistency.
  2. Transfer flour to the counter and sprinkle with a little flour.
  3. Press and lightly knead dough until it comes together and is soft.

  6. Mix melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, corn starch, and salt. Keep aside.
  7. Sprinkle the counter lightly with flour.
  8. Roll dough into long strips, approximately 4 inches wide and 10-12 inches long.
  9. Spread evenly butter-sugar-cinnamon mix.
  10. Optional step – fold about ¼ inch on both side to prevent filling from oozing out of the roll while ‘baking’ in the microwave.
  11. Roll the dough tightly to resemble a cinnamon roll.
  12. Grease a standard-sized mug with melted butter. Sprinkle a generous pinch of flour on all sides.
  13. Place the cinnamon roll in the mug.
  14. Microwave at high heat for 60 to 90 seconds. The dough should be set and cooked. If the dough is undercooked, increment by 5 second intervals as each microwave behaves differently.5-second
  15. Remove the cinnamon roll in a mug from the microwave.
  16. In a small bowl mix together confectioners sugar and milk until it’s thick, smooth, and lump-free.

  • Nutritional Info – Please keep in mind that the nutritional information provided is only a rough estimate and can vary greatly based on the products used.
  • Use a standard-size mug for this recipe. The large mug will make the cinnamon roll flat and hard.
  • Don’t skip coating the mug with butter and flour. This will prevent cinnamon roll from sticking to the mug.
  • Every microwave behaves differently. If the roll is undercooked, increment cooking time by 5-second intervals.
  • Don’t overcook, it’ll turn tough.
  • This cinnamon roll is meant to be eaten immediately. If you rest it and then serve it will be hard.
