Cinnamon Rolls and Apple Pie Filling
This dish layers canned apple pie filling in a casserole dish topped with cinnamon roll pieces and heavy cream, baked until the rolls brown and soak up the fruit juices. The cinnamon rolls cut into quarters distribute softness and sweetness over the spiced apple filling, enriched by the cream poured on top. The result is a warm, dessert casserole combining the simple convenience of canned ingredients with a baked custardy topping.
Ingredients
- 2 cans apple pie filling 20 ounces each
- 2 cans cinnamon rolls 12.4 ounces each
- 1/2 cup heavy cream 4 ounces
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Spray a 9x13" casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Spread the apple pie filling in the bottom of the prepared pan
- Open the can of cinnamon rolls and cut each roll into 4 pieces. Sprinkle the cinnamon roll pieces evenly overtop the apple pie filling.
- Pour the heavy cream over the top of the cinnamon rolls.
