Ingredients

  • ¾ cup coarse salt
  • 2 tablespoon finely grated lemon zest
  • 4 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 3 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 3 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon red-pepper flakes

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Combine all the ingredients above together in an airtight jar. Store for up to 3 months.

Notes

  • Yield - This recipe makes 1 cup.
  • Storage - Store in a glass jar to prevent the seasoning scent from "staining" a plastic container.
  • Use On - Use this seasoning on fish, chicken, potatoes, and vegetables!
  • Fresh Herbs - You can use fresh herbs instead of dried; however, the blend will only last 3-5 days max and will need to be stored inside the refrigerator. I would suggest using a food processor to minced the herbs very fine. The seasoning salt will be on the moister side since the fresh herbs will expel some liquid.
  • Lemon Zest - Two tablespoons lemon zest is about 2 lemons.
  • Hostess Gift - This also makes for a great host/hostess gift. Whip up a batch in a pretty jar that seals well and bring this the next time your invited to a BBQ. Your host/hostess will be wowed that you not only brought them something, but a customized spice blend made specifically for them.
