Coconut Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 can of coconut milk
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup sugar more if desired
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp coconut extract
  • Whipped Cream

Instructions

  1. Place the coconut in a small skillet over medium-low heat.
  2. Toast, tossing often, until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes. Watch carefully so it doesn't burn.
  3. Combine the milk, coconut milk, semi-sweet chocolate chips, sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and coconut extract to a large saucepan over medium heat.
  4. Whisk occasionally until thoroughly heated through.
  5. Pour the hot chocolate into mugs then top with whipped cream and toasted coconut.
  6. Serve immediately. Enjoy.
