Ingredients

  • 8 cups (712g) cabbage, shredded, any color
  • 1 large carrot, largely grated (approximately ⅓ cup)
  • ½ cup (232g) mayonnaise
  • ½ cup (122.5g) buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • ½ teaspoon ground mustard
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Add cabbage and grated carrot to a large mixing bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, buttermilk, sugar, apple cider vinegar, celery seed, ground mustard, salt, and pepper. Whisk to combine.
  3. Pour the mayo mixture over the cabbage and carrots. Toss to combine.
  4. Chill until ready to serve. (It's best when chilled for 1-2 hours.)
  5. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
