- Sugar granella/Pearl sugar optional
- almonds
- 40 gms – 1.5 oz. icing sugar
- 30 gms – 1 oz. almond meal

- 1 ½ cup flour
- ¾ cup sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil I use sunflower oil
- 1 egg
- 2/3 cup milk plus more if the batter is too dense
- 100 gms – 3.5 oz. mixed candied peel
- ½ tsp vanilla essence
- 1 tsp lemon essence
- 1 tsp orange essence
