Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup quick oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 ⅓ cup brown sugar packed
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups semisweet chocolate chunks
  • 1 ¾ cups milk chocolate chunks

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Get out and measure your ingredients.
  2. Before you get started making the cookies, preheat the oven to 325 degrees F and adjust the rack in the oven to the lower-middle position. Top 2 baking sheets with a piece of parchment paper.
  3. Combine flour, oats baking soda, powder and salt in medium bowl.
  4. Stir them together with a whisk or spoon.
  5. Using a stand mixer with a paddle attachment beat together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar on medium speed until smooth, about 2 minutes.
  6. Add the honey, eggs and vanilla and beat until well mixed.
  7. Reduce speed to low and add ⅓ of the flour mixture to the bowl. Repeat two more times and mix just until combined. Use a spatula to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  8. Add the chocolate chunks and use a wooden spoon to stir them into the dough.
  9. Mixing only until chocolate chips are evenly distributed.
  10. Use a ¼ cup measuring cup for large cookies (like Chick-fil-A) or 2 tablespoon scoops for a smaller cookie to measure out the dough.
  11. Roll the measured dough into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets leaving 2 inches in between the cookies.
  12. Bake the cookies in the center of the rack until edges are set and beginning to brown but centers are still soft and puffy, about 13-17 minutes, using the 2 tablespoons measurement and 19-25 minutes for the ¼ cup. Be sure to rotate the baking tray halfway through the cooking time.
  13. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking tray for 10 minutes before serving.
  14. Serve them up!
  15. Enjoy!
