Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • ¼ cup imitation crab meat, flaked (or real crab meat, if desired)
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (11 ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat and prepare: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine filling ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, green onions, imitation crab meat (or real crab meat), Old Bay seasoning, and black pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.
  3. Prepare the crescent roll dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
  4. Fill the crescent rolls: Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the crab and cheese mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle.
  5. Shape the puffs: Roll up each crescent triangle from the wide end towards the point, enclosing the filling. Gently pinch the seams to seal. You can also gently curve the points inwards to form a crescent shape.
  6. Bake: Place the filled crescent rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.
  7. Cool and serve: Let the puffs cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring them to a serving platter. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Crab Meat: You can use real crab meat instead of imitation crab meat for a richer flavor.
  • Cheese Variations: You can use other types of cheese, such as Monterey Jack, Swiss, or pepper jack, in place of cheddar cheese.
  • Spice Level: Adjust the amount of Old Bay seasoning or add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicier kick.
  • Make-Ahead: The filling can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Assemble and bake the puffs just before serving.
  • Serving Suggestions: Serve these puffs warm as an appetizer or snack. They are also great for parties and gatherings. You can also serve them with a dipping sauce, such as a creamy ranch or a remoulade sauce.
