Cream Cheese Caramel Apple Dip

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces (227g) cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ⅔ cup (213g) caramel spread
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
To serve
  • Apple slices
  • pretzels, crackers, cookies

Instructions

  1. Combine the softened cream cheese and butter in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the cream cheese softens.
  2. Then add caramel spread, cinnamon and salt. Stir continuously until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add a tablespoon of two of milk or water.
  3. Remove from heat, transfer to a bowl, and serve with fresh apple slices, sliced, pretzels, or crackers.

Notes

  • Choose high-quality ingredients to get the very best flavor. 
  • Bring your ingredients, especially the butter and cream cheese, to room temperature for easier mixing.
  • If you prefer a thinner consistency for the dip, gradually add a small amount of milk or water while stirring until you reach your desired thickness.
  • To prevent apples from browning, soak them in a mixture of water and lemon juice before serving. Drain well and pat dry before dipping.
  • For a fun twist, serve the dip in a hollowed-out apple. Simply cut off the top of an apple and use a spoon or melon baller to scoop out the center, leaving a sturdy shell to fill with the dip.
  • Apple varieties such as Granny Smith, Gala, or Pink Lady, which have a nice crisp texture, hold their shape and work well for dipping.
  • Storage - leftovers can be kept in an airtight container inside the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
