Ingredients

  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup chicken chopped
  • 2 1/2 cups milk whole
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 1/4 cup flour

Instructions

  1. Bring a saucepan with the chicken broth to a simmer with the chicken carcass/chicken meat.
  2. Remove 1 cup of the broth to a large measuring cup, add in the milk, celery salt, white pepper, onion powder and flour to the large measuring cup and whisk well until fully combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into the pan in a slow stream while whisking.
  4. Continue to whisk regularly for 5-7 minutes or until the sauce is thickened (like the canned variety).
  5. If you used the chicken carcass, remove it and discard it.
