Creamy Garlic Italian Dressing
This Creamy Garlic Italian Dressing blends white or red wine vinegar with a mix of sour cream, heavy cream, and mayonnaise to create a smooth, rich texture accented by fresh garlic and herbs. The dressing is processed to combine the sharpness of vinegar and garlic with creamy elements and seasonings like parsley, oregano, and black pepper for balanced flavor. It works well as both a salad dressing and a dip when adjusted slightly.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup white wine vinegar or red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- ½ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup + 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 2 large garlic cloves or 3 small cloves
- 1 tablespoon parsley fresh
- ½ teaspoon garlic salt
- ½ teaspoon oregano dried
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to the bowl of a food processor and blend away.
- Scrape down the sides of the bowl and continue mixing until well combined. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 5-7 days in an airtight jar.
Notes
- For a thicker dip consistency, reduce the heavy cream slightly.
- Fresh garlic cloves provide a sharper garlic flavor than powder or pre-minced garlic.
- Store leftover dressing in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for 5 to 7 days.
