Creamy Grape Salad

Creamy Grape Salad combines seedless red and green grapes coated in a smooth mixture of cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, and vanilla. The grapes' natural juiciness is balanced by the sweet and tangy dressing. Chopped toasted pecans and brown sugar sprinkled on top add crunch and a caramel note. Chilling the salad before serving allows the flavors to meld and the texture to set, making it a cool, refreshing side or dessert option that balances sweetness with creaminess and a hint of vanilla.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds green grapes about 5 cups, seedless
  • 2 pounds red grapes about 5 cups, seedless
  • 8 ounces cream cheese room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup pecans chopped, toasted

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Remove the grapes fom the vines. Wash thoroughly with cold water. Allow the grapes to dry completely before proceeding with the recipe.
  2. Add the cream cheese and sour cream to a medium bowl. Use an electric mixer (or wooden spoon or spatula) on medium-low speed to mix until thoroughly combined and no lumps remain.
  3. Add the sugar and vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture. Beat until well incorporated.
  4. Add the dry grapes to the cream cheese mixture. Fold until the grapes are completely coated.
  5. Cover and place in the refrigerator to chill for at least one hour and up to three hours.
  6. When ready to serve, garnish with chopped, toasted pecans and brown sugar.

Notes

  • Prepare the salad the same day it will be served to maintain the dressing's consistency.
  • Wash and dry grapes thoroughly; drying helps prevent watery dressing.
  • For best results, use seedless grapes only.
  • To prep early, wash and dry grapes and keep cream cheese mixture separate until combining before serving.
  • Full-fat cream cheese and sour cream produce the best texture and flavor.
