Crock-Pot Shepherd's Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 
  • 3 cups mixed frozen vegetables carrots, peas, corn
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with onion, garlic, salt, and pepper until the beef is no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Stir in the tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce into the beef mixture until well combined.
  3. Transfer the beef mixture to a greased slow cooker and spread it evenly. Layer the frozen vegetables on top of the beef.
  4. Spread the mashed potatoes over the vegetables, creating a smooth top layer.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours. In the last 15 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes and continue to cook until the cheese is melted.
