Ingredients

  • 3 pounds sirloin steak cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon salt plus more ,to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 medium onion thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 1/4 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter cut into pieces
  • fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

  1. In a large bowl, combine the steak pieces with salt, pepper, and dried thyme.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak bites in batches until browned. This step adds flavor but can be skipped if needed.
  3. Place the sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the Crock Pot.
  4. Place the steak bites over the onions and garlic.
  5. Pour the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the steak bites.
  6. Distribute the butter pieces evenly over the steak.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours, until the steak is tender.
  8. Stir before serving. Serve hot, sprinkled with parsley.
