Crockpot Shredded Chicken

Crockpot shredded chicken is my favorite way to make an easy lunch, dinner, or snack.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts average 7 ounces each
  • ½ onion sliced ½" thick
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon seasoned salt or to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning or to taste
  • fresh herbs a few sprigs

Instructions

  1. In the bottom of crock pot, layer onion, chicken breast, seasonings and herbs. Add broth.
  2. Cook on high for 2 ½ - 3 hours (or on low for 5-6 hours).
  3. Using 2 forks, shred chicken. Stir in some of the juices/broth.

Notes

  • Chicken breasts can range in size from 5oz to 10oz so its important to note the size. Larger chicken breasts may need longer while smaller chicken breasts may cook quicker. Ensure chicken reaches 165°F before shredding.
