DIY Fajita Seasoning Blend
Make a batch of homemade fajita seasoning blend in under 5 minutes to spice up taco night and more. It's easy to make with pantry ingredients - it's so much better than a store-bought spice mix!
Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon cumin ground
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons oregano dried
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt optional
Instructions
- In a bowl, add all of the ingredients and whisk or stir until completely incorporated together. Or, shake them together in a jar. Store in an airtight container in a dark cupboard for up to six months.
- Use in place of a taco seasoning packet or in your favorite Mexican-inspired recipes. Add salt to the recipes, to taste.
Notes
- Bulk: make this recipe in bulk and store it so you have it on hand. Click the x2 or x3 in the recipe card above to easily adjust the amounts.
- This recipe yields approximately 4 tablespoons (1 ounce), which is just slightly more than 1 packet of store-bought seasoning.
- Salt: there's just enough salt in this recipe to round out the seasoning, but I do recommend using your judgment to also season any protein/veggies you're using.
