Ingredients
For the Cake:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk
For the Frosting:
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 3 ½ cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food Coloring pastel pink, blue, yellow, or purple
For Decoration:
- marshmallow PEEPS assorted colors
- Pastel Sprinkles
Instructions
Step No.1: Preheat and Prep
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan or two 9-inch round cake pans.

Step No.2: Make the Cake Batter
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract. Alternate adding flour mixture and milk, mixing until just combined.
Step No.3: Bake the Cake
- Pour batter into the prepared pan(s) and smooth the top. Bake for 28-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.
Step No.4: Make the Frosting
- In a large bowl, beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing well. Add heavy cream and vanilla extract, then beat until fluffy. Add food coloring if desired.
Step No.5: Frost and Decorate
- Spread frosting over the cooled cake. Arrange Peeps marshmallows on top in a colorful pattern and sprinkle with pastel sprinkles.
