Easy Air Fryer Grilled Chicken Thighs
If you've got skinless boneless chicken thighs and some basic herbs and spices in the pantry, as well as a couple of simple sides, you've got an easy but delicious dinner! This is my go-to simple baked chicken thigh recipe. It takes just 15 minutes to cook in your air fryer, for a perfect 'grilled chicken' result.

Ingredients
- 4 medium skinless boneless chicken thighs
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon cumin (optional)
- 2½ teaspoons mixed Italian herbs e.g. basil, oregano, thyme (or whichever dried herbs you have)
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (approximately, to brush over the chicken to help the herbs/spices to stick)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 355F/180C for 3 minutes (if you like - you don't have to preheat it). Meanwhile, mix all the spices and herbs together.
- Put the chicken thighs into a wide bowl or on a plate. Brush them all over with the olive oil.
- Sprinkle the herb and spice mixture all over the chicken (you can turn it with tongs).
- Place the chicken into the air fryer basket. Leave a little space between each so that the air can circulate all around. Air fry for 15 to 17 minutes (turning half way through if you like), or until the juices run clear. Alternatively, you can check that the internal temperature is 165F or 75C in the thickest part.

Notes
- Regular oven instructions: If you prefer to use your regular oven, bake on a lined baking sheet (at the same temperature as for the air fryer version) for around 35 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the thighs.
- Adapting the recipe: No garlic powder? Don't like cumin? No problem! Just skip them, or add a bit of lemon zest, lemon pepper seasoning or a pinch of chili flakes instead.
- You can also rub the chicken thighs with a bit of honey before rolling in the spice mixture for a delicious hit of sweetness.
- Serving ideas: air fryer sweet potato wedges, regular potato wedges, Greek salad, parmentier potatoes, Greek lemon rice, olive oil toasts, or anything you like! You can also slice the chicken and serve it in wraps, sandwiches and in bowls.
