Easy and Tasty Spaghetti Bolognese Recipe

This easy Spaghetti Bolognese recipe has all the makings of a family favorite. A tasty meat sauce over pasta - what could be better?

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 large onions chopped finely
  • 4 ribs celery diced
  • 1 cup carrots diced
  • 6 ounces Bacon chopped into small pieces
  • 2-4 cloves garlic
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 15 ounces can crushed tomatoes
  • 2/3 cup beef stock
  • salt & pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 pound spaghetti pasta cooked

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil and butter in a large skillet or saucepan.
  2. Add the onions, celery, carrots and bacon and fry them together for 5 minutes, stirring once or twice.
  3. Stir in the garlic and ground beef and cook,until the meat is no longer pink. Lower the heat and continue cooking for a further 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Increase the heat to medium, stir in the tomato paste and flour, and cook for 1 or 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in the tomatoes and beef stock, and bring to a boil, stirring.
  6. Season the sauce with salt, pepper and Italian seasoning.
  7. Cover, and simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Let the sauce reduce, then pour over freshly cooked pasta.
  9. Devour
