Easy Avocado Spread combines mashed avocado with tahini, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, resulting in a creamy and tangy spread. The tahini adds a subtle nuttiness that complements the avocado’s smooth texture. This simple spread can be used for sandwiches, toast, or as a dip, offering a mild and balanced flavor profile with minimal carbohydrates.
Ingredients
- 1 avocado 160g avocado flesh, large
- 1 tablespoon tahini 16g
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice or more, to taste
- ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ⅛ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Place the avocado flesh in a bowl and mash well with a fork.
- Stir through the tahini, lemon, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Or, add all the ingredients to a small blender and blend until smooth.
Notes
- Mash the avocado well before mixing to ensure a smooth spread.
- Store the spread in the fridge for up to 3 days, covering the surface with clingfilm to prevent air exposure and browning.
- The recipe makes two portions, each roughly a generous quarter cup with about 1 gram net carbs.
