Easy Fudge

Easy Fudge combines semi-sweet chocolate chips, butter, and sweetened condensed milk into a smooth, creamy confection that sets into rich, sweet squares. The addition of flaky sea salt and vanilla extract balances the sweetness with a hint of complexity. Optional pecans introduce a crunchy texture to contrast the fudge's softness. This no-bake recipe chills in the refrigerator until firm, delivering a classic homemade treat that can be stored for weeks and is convenient for gifting or snacking.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips I use Guittard
  • 2 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk can
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt flaky
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract pure
  • 1 cup pecans optional, toasted, chopped, or walnuts

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Line a 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving about a 1-inch overhang for easy removal. Gently spray with nonstick cooking spray and dab away any excess oil with a paper towel. Set aside.
  2. In a large, heatproof bowl, combine the chocolate chips and butter. Set the bowl over a pan of simmering water over medium-low heat, making sure the water never touches the bottom of the bowl. Use a spatula to stir until completely melted and combined.
  3. Add the sweetened condensed milk, sea salt, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined and smooth. Add the nuts, if using, and stir again.
  4. Pour into the prepared pan and spread the top with a spatula until smooth.
  5. Refrigerate until set, about 2 to 3 hours.
  6. Carefully lift the fudge out of the pan and cut into small squares.

Notes

  • Store fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks or refrigerate for up to one month.
  • Freeze fudge wrapped in foil inside a freezer-safe container or bag for up to two months.
