Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • ¼ cup tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 8 medium corn tortillas or flour tortillas
Optional Toppings
  • 1 cup Mexican cheese blend shredded
  • 1 avocado chopped
  • Pico de Gallo
  • romaine lettuce or iceberg, shredded

Instructions

  1. Cook Beef: Add the ground beef to a large skillet and cook over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain any fat if necessary. Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until aromatic.
  2. Add Ingredients: Stir in the tomato sauce, chicken broth and taco seasoning. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for another 5 minutes until most of the liquid has evaporated.
  3. Assemble & Serve: Assemble tacos by filling them with meat and desired tacos.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce the amount of fat you need to drain.
  • Feel free to swap out the chicken broth with beef broth or water if needed.
  • Warm the tortillas in a skillet or microwave before assembling for extra flavor and pliability.
  • Customize the tacos with your favorite toppings like salsa, sour cream, or jalapeños.
  • Leftover taco meat can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for later use.
