Easy Homemade BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ⅓ cup molasses
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons liquid smoke

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together 1 cup ketchup , ⅓ cup molasses , ⅓ cup brown sugar , 3 tablespoons cider vinegar , 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce , 1 teaspoon smoked paprika , 1 teaspoon chili powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, ½ teaspoon salt and 2 teaspoons liquid smoke .  
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat and cover with a lid.
  3. Simmer and stir occasionally until the sauce thickens, about 10-15 minutes.   
  4. Use right away or store for later use. Allow it to cool before placing it in an airtight container and storing it in the refrigerator for 1 week.
