Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ cups warm water about 110 F
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 3 ¾-4 ¾ cups bread flour

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook attachment, stir yeast, sugar, and water together.
  2. Let mixture sit until yeast is foamy, about 5-10 minutes.
  3. Stir in olive oil, salt, and 2 cups flour.
  4. Continue adding flour 1/4 cup at a time until dough clears sides of bowl. Dough should be soft, smooth, and elastic.
  5. Cover, and let dough rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Use as desired to make pizza, breadsticks, and more.

Notes

  • Active dry yeast: If you prefer, you can use instant yeast. Nutrition values are estimates. To use instant yeast, simply skip step 2 and continue with the recipe as-written.
  • Kosher salt: You can use 1 teaspoon of (table) salt in place of the kosher salt.
  • Bread flour: All-purpose flour can be used in place of the bread flour. The dough won't have quite the chew to it, but it will still work just fine.
  • While the dough is resting, I make up a batch of homemade pizza sauce for the pizza.
