Easy Homemade Slushee Recipe
This Easy Homemade Slushee Recipe uses a simple syrup of water and sugar flavored with raspberry extract and colored with food coloring, frozen in an ice cream maker until a semi-frozen slushy consistency is reached. The result is a brightly colored, sweet frozen drink that can be served immediately as a refreshing treat.
Ingredients
- 4 cups water cold
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp raspberry extract McCormick brand
- 4-6 Food Coloring or other color of your choice, McCormick Neon Blue, drops
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine water and sugar and stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Add in McCormick Raspberry Extract and stir well. Follow with 4-6 drops of McCormick Food Coloring to achieve your desired color. Stir well. Pour into your ice cream maker (this recipe was tested in a 1 and 1/2 quart ice cream maker) and turn on and run according to ice cream maker package directions. Let run for approximately 20 minutes or until desired consistency is reached. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Freeze the ice cream maker’s drum for at least 24 hours prior to use to ensure proper consistency.
- Keeping the drum in the freezer when not in use helps it stay ready for making slushees or ice cream.
