Ingredients

Truffles
  • 18 Oreo cookies
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened at room temperature
Coating
  • 12 ounces chocolate chips
  • sprinkles or other granish

Instructions

Truffles
    Cup of Yum
  1. Remove the cream from the Oreos.
  2. Place the cream cheese, Oreo cookies, and Oreo filling in a food processor.
  3. Pulse until everything is well combined. It’ll be a thick spoonable mixture that shouldn’t have any large chunks.
  4. Roll mixture into 1" balls. Use a 1 tablespoon cookie scoop to ensure they are all the same size.
  5. Place balls either in a bowl or on a baking sheet and put the truffles into the fridge to chill for 10 minutes.
Coating
  1. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring between each interval, until completely melted. Or double boil chocolate.
  2. Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate. Let excess drip off, then place on a parchment lined cookie sheet.
  3. While chocolate is still wet, add sprinkles or other garnish as desired.
  4. Allow chocolate to set completely before serving.
  5. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Cream cheese must be at room temperature or it will be very difficult to mix. Take it out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before you want to make these. If you forget and have to make them last minute, microwave the cream cheese for 10-15 seconds.
  • Any chocolate chips will work in this recipe. I used milk chocolate, but dark, white, or semi-sweet would also be delicious.
  • To make truffles set faster, place in the fridge to chill. Also make sure to store them in the fridge since they have cream cheese in the filling!
  • Use a small cookie scoop to scoop the filling to keep the ball size consistent. It really doesn’t matter that much but if you want them all consistent, a cookie scoop can help.
  • Shake lightly the Oreo truffles after dipping in chocolate to allow the excess chocolate to run off. This will help your chocolate go further plus prevent huge clumps of chocolate on the balls.
