Easy Pear Butter

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs ripe pears, peeled, cored, and diced (about 5 large pears)
  • 3-4 tbsp honey, to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg, freshly grated
  • pinch of ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Combine the diced pear, honey, lemon juice, cinnamon, ginger, clove, and nutmeg together in a saucepan over medium-high heat until boiling. 
  2. Reduce heat, cover partially with a lid, and cook, stirring often, for 50-60 minutes.
  3. Place into a blender (or use a hand immersion blender) and blend until smooth and creamy. Pour into a canning jar, seal, and refrigerator until ready to use.
  4. Side Note: If your pear butter is too runny, feel free to simmer the mixture longer on the stove to allow it to reduce more.
